Join us in a "no reservations" culinary expedition to a rural, yet beautiful, part of Greece, Etoloakarnania.

"Malagouzia" is one of the top Greek white wines, with origins dated back to Antiquity. It will be one of many wines that will sample during our visits to local wineries.

Olive oil, olives and cheese are among the local gourmet produce that we will have the chance to get to know how they are made and also taste them.

Hands on cooking classes will take places in selected locations with best quality products thus ensuring the best experience of cooking, enviroment and culture.

The "base camp" is Marpessa boutique hotel centrally located in Agrinio city. Cozy and comfy rooms will cater all your accommodation requirements. Hotel's facilities include a bistro and hammam. The location is ideal for a nice walk to the nearby city's municipal park or shops and cafes.

1st Day Agrinio. Arrival to Agrinio. Transfer from bus station to Marpessa hotel provided. Early evening we will enjoy a greek coctail while the representative will introduce us to the program details. Dinner at hotel. Overnight.
2nd Day Agrinio. Breakfast and walk to city's Museum. Visit an olive oil factory that processes olives and two of the best olive oils in Greece. Olive oil tasting. Cooking class using factory products. Lunch with the dishes prepared. Return to the hotel back to Agrinio. Dinner at a local tavern (round trip transfers provided). Overnight
3rd Day Etoliko. After breakfast expedition starts. Private aircondioned coach to the fishing town of Etoliko. Visit and sightseeing of the Archaeological site of Iniades. A visit the local "grey mullett bottarga" factory follows. According to world famous chef Ferran Adria, bottarga is one of the top 10 foods of the world. Will try Bottarga and smoked octapus with a sip of ouzo or tsipouro. Continue to Ancient Plevrona. Visit the ancient theatre, the fortress and the water reservoire. Lunch at a local fish tavern with excellent fish and seafood. Return to hotel late afternoon. Dinner at hotel. Overnight
4th Day Arta. Leave from hotel after breakfast for Arta. Visit an fish farm eel where we will try a local delicacy .. smoked eel among other products. Visit of Arta castle and the famous bridge. Lunch at a nearby fish tavern. Return to Agrinio late afternoon. "Souvlaki" Dinner (barbequed meats) at a local traditional tavern (transfers provided). Overnight.
5th Day Agrinio - Wine Tasting day. Breakfast and transfer to Thestia Winery. Visit of the winery and wine tastings. Cooking class at winery and lunch paired with wines (suggestions by the wine maker). Return to hotel. Evening short walk to an ouzeri for Dinner with "mezedes" (a variety of several foods in little dishes). Overnight.
6th Day Agrinio - Cooking by the lake. Breakfast and transfer to Trihonida lake. Visit of the Trihonida Enviromental centre and hands on cooking class almost by the lake shore. Lunch with dishes prepared. Return to hotel. Evening free. Optional dinner. Overnight.
7th Day Agrinio - Departure day : After breafast free transfer to bus station.


Agrinio is located 300 kms west of Athens in the province of Etoloakarnania.

  • For cancellations from 20JUNE (incl) and onwards total package cost will be withheld as cancellation fees.
